The role

As a Mobile Engineer, you will help lead the development of the mobile apps, support and mentor your teammates, and help drive technical decisions that impact performance, security, and user experience. Your expertise will be key to ensuring the app’s smooth operation, as well as its scalability across different devices and platforms.

Core responsibilities

• Document and explain challenging areas in the codebase and help your team navigate these complexities efficiently.
• Stay on top of user feedback and performance metrics to ensure the app ranks high on the App/Play Store and provides a great experience for users.
• Ensure the app works smoothly across a wide range of devices and remains stable
• Champion best practices and processes that speed up development, allowing the team to deliver new features faster without compromising quality.
• Help make thoughtful decisions that support both immediate needs and long-term project stability.
• Structure the codebase to expose app components that work seamlessly with automated testing, improving overall code quality.

Requirements

• Experience: 7 years of mobile development experience, with at least 3 years working in Flutter.
• You’re comfortable with Flutter’s architectural patterns and Dart, and can leverage them to build robust and maintainable applications.
• You understand secure storage, encryption, SSL pinning, and other mobile security best practices.
• You’ve worked on optimizing apps to handle large user volumes and fine-tuned them for performance.
• You’re skilled at structuring a codebase so multiple teams can contribute effectively without creating chaos.
• You know how to build automated pipelines for building, testing, and deploying mobile apps smoothly.
• You’re fluent in managing dependencies and keeping things organized in Git.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)

• Familiarity with AWS, Firebase, or similar cloud services.
• Understanding or hands-on experience with agile development processes like sprints, standups, and iterative delivery.
